Hi! My name is Silvia Batkova and besides my day job as business journalist, I have been helping smart and hard-working students in getting accepted to top universities for nearly 5 years. As an LSE International Relations and UCL LLM alumni, I was approached by an increasing number of high school grads for help with their applications to the most elite universities in Europe. This initial hobby grew into my Magic Mentor love project with more than 80 of my mentees studying and graduating at top universities of the UK, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Denmark and even the U.S.

 

There are few feelings that are as uplifting as contributing to the happiness of others and I sincerely think that giving wings to others is the most fulfilling way to fly for ourselves as well. As opposed to the mass-consulting of the big companies in the higher education advising sector, I believe that every single student's application has to be a personalized journey with an affordable price tag. Instead of the usual group activities, our work at Magic Mentor is based on a strong personal bond and sometimes even friendship with my students and their parents alike.

 

Since I am mentoring out of love and passion, my primary aim is that my students get into the best possible universities according to their talents, dreams and financial backgrounds. My 95% success rate, all the hard yet fun work, but perhaps even more importantly, the love and happiness of my students seems to prove my method.

The Magic Mentor name was "stuck" on me by my mentees...not just for solving all the seemingly "impossible" problems but mainly for getting pretty much all of them into their dream universities. What seems like "magic" to them is in fact a combination of years of experience, hard work, know-how, connections and enthusiasm on my part. Where there's will, there's always a way!
